Diversity is an extraordinary breath of life. Modern industrial life is full of the values of difference, and its people come from many different backgrounds. We cannot see difference as a barrier or a reason to doubt one another. It is because of our differences that we can grow and support each other. A community that lives peacefully by respecting difference will surely create a harmonious life. Protecting and valuing difference is the key to a safe life.

It was inspired by Hope, a mural I painted for a family in the Taman Sari kampung (neighbourhood) in Yogyakarta. The central figure in the work is the child of the owner of the building where the mural was painted.
